Fall Guest Impression

A Peaceful Cabin In The Canadian Woods

DECEMBER 14, 2018 • AUTUMN JOURNAL • BY ROADESQUE

Roadesque stayed with us this past fall to experience true peacefulness. Valerie and Jon came here as guests. You may imagine our surprise when we discovered they wrote a blog about their stay with us a few days ago. Not only do they share wonderful words about our place, their photo's of the Gold Cup Cabin are just incredible.

Here is a sneak peek ...

We often dream of ditching our city life for a vacation in a cabin in the woods. You know the kind of tucked away place that forces you to slow down and place your daily worries on the back shelf while experiencing true peacefulness and a whole lot of quiet. Well, that dream finally came true when we stayed a couple of nights last October at the Logden Lodge in the historic mining town of Ymir, British Columbia!

Our cabin, one of four that are situated apart from each other creating maximum privacy, had everything we wanted when it came to rustic elegance. We’re talking a picture-perfect stick and timber frame structure with an open layout that has cozy bedrooms with fantastic sheets, a charming kitchen with everything you need to fend for yourself, a luxurious bathroom with a deep soaker tub, unique furnishings and decor including world artifacts from the owners’ private collection, and our favorite…

... a wonderful wood burning stove. We absolutely loved that wood burning stove…so much that we spent most of our trip in front of it just taking in its warmth while realizing that this is what relaxing really feels like. Needless to say, we came out of this trip feeling revitalized and excited to visit again…perhaps in the winter when the snowy environment will make this place even more serene!

Thank you Valerie and Jon & we hope to see you again!
